(Dan Tri) – Former President Donald Trump is `likely` to carry out extensive reforms in the US intelligence community if he is re-elected next November.

In an article published on February 27, Politico interviewed 18 intelligence officials, including some who were appointed by former President Donald Trump and later criticized him.

If Mr. Trump is re-elected next November, he will replace `those considered hostile to his political agenda with inexperienced loyalists,` Politico summarizes the people’s statement.
The two people specifically named are former acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Richard Grenell and assistant Kash Patel, who played an important role in declassifying documents about the origins of Russiagate (accusing Russia of meddling in Russia).
Other people who were appointed by Mr. Trump and interviewed in the article include former National Security Advisor John Bolton and Fiona Hill, the top Russia adviser on the National Security Council.
`He wants to weaponize the intelligence community. If he learns something, he will keep us partially blindsided,` former adviser Hill said.
Several officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Trump’s possible reforms could jeopardize `sources and methods` used by US spies and undermine the trust of allies.
In December last year, a diplomat from an unnamed NATO member country described Mr. Trump’s re-election and actual reform of the US bureaucracy as a `doomsday option`.
Others worry that the appointment of `controversial` figures could lead to the resignation of competent officials and subordinates.

In December last year, President Biden declared that if his predecessor Donald Trump was re-elected, US democracy would be `threatened`.
Mr. Trump is currently the brightest presidential candidate of the Republican Party, while Mr. Biden is the Democratic candidate.
