Ukraine released evidence accusing Russia of using North Korean missiles 0
(Dan Tri) – The Kharkiv Provincial Prosecutor’s Office (Ukraine) on January 6 released more evidence accusing Russia of using North Korean missiles for a special military campaign in Ukraine.

Kharkov Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Dmytro Chubenko said that based on the debris, it can be seen that this missile is visually and technically different from Russian models.
`The production method is not very modern. There are differences from the standard Iskander missile that we have seen before in Russian raids on Kharkov. This missile is similar to one of the Russian missiles.`
He said the missile has a slightly larger diameter than Russia’s Iskander missile, while the nozzle, internal electrical coils and rear parts are also different.
`That’s why we lean toward the hypothesis that this could be a missile provided by North Korea,` he said, declining to provide the exact identification code of the missile.
Previously, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said that the force could not confirm information that Russia may have used ballistic missiles purchased from North Korea.
He said: `The US has made a statement on this matter. So experts will look at some debris and then we can conclude whether this is true or not. I
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby this week accused North Korea of providing missiles to Russia.
According to Mr. Kirby, North Korea’s missiles have a range of about 900km and Pyongyang’s support for Russia is a `significant and worrying` escalation.
Mr. Kirby affirmed that the US has evidence of Russia receiving ballistic missiles from North Korea, as well as negotiations between Moscow and Tehran to receive similar weapons.
Serhii Kyslytsia, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, said that the United Nations Security Council will discuss the question of North Korea providing ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine, on January 10.
As for Russia, the Kremlin refused to comment.
Russia and North Korea have repeatedly denied information that Pyongyang sold weapons to Moscow for use in Ukraine.
The latest accusations against Russia and North Korea come in the context of Moscow in recent days increasing large-scale raids targeting targets across Ukraine.
